The Fibonacci sequence is a mathematical concept that has been used throughout the span of history and is still used today. The sequence itself was discovered by Leonardo Fibonacci, a mathematician from 12th century Italy.
The Fibonacci sequence is characterized by its starting point: zero. After zero follows the numbers 1, 1, 2, 3, 5 and so on in a fixed pattern which increases in magnitude with each additional number.
